Waxed laces function really well together with a softboot skate, pulling the skin tight around your feet which ensures maximum control. Because waxed laces hardly loosen after you have pulled them tight, you can make your own custom fit. For instance if you like more room at your toes but prefer a tight fit around the ankle, you can pull the laces less tight at the toe eyelets and pull them tighter at the ankle eyelets. The laces will not loosen and stay like this during your skate session.
